According to a report on BBC Sport, West Ham United are interested in signing Genk striker Mbwana Samatta.
The forward, who has scored six goals in 13 league games this season, is said to have a £10m release clause in his contract so would represent a low risk transfer for the Hammers.
The forward joined Genk back in 2016 and is said to have also attracted interest from Newcastle United who are also looking to boost their front-line.
Samatta has scored six league goals in 13 games this season but it’s his Champions League performances that will have caught the attention of Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham. In Europe’s premier competition, the Tanzanian has netted twice in Genk’s four group games.
The 26 year old has scored 40 goals in his last 68 games for the Belgian side, including one against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
